The Car Is Full

All of my earthly possessions (minus the stuff in the thirteen boxes my father will ship later) loaded into Ulysses, fearless and faithful chariot.

Mary, take the wheel.

Next stop, North Carolina.

The Car Is Still Small!

After a delicious brunch prepared by my father, and after a very exciting trip to the Goodwill with my nephew, I braved the 95 degree heat to test pack Ulysses again. Between the last post and this one R and I packed up 7 boxes of sundries for shipment across the continent, and it is with great satisfaction that I can report: our stuff fits in the car. It will be tight, of course, but we got the essentials and a few luxuries loaded, and are go for departure tomorrow morning.

First stop: random lake in the middle of North Carolina!

The Car is Small!

Step one in any cross country voyage: load up the car to see if you can actually fit your whole already significantly pared down life into it.

Step two: panic. Pick fight with well-meaning loved one. Realize that your priorities are all wrong.

Step three: investigate the cost of shipping over a glass of red wine, decide it's not that bad.

Step four: fill boxes, write about it on your blog.
